Captain Matthew Ryan has been fishing since birth. He grew up saltwater fishing both inshore and offshore. Matthew won his first SKA Jr. Angler Tournament at 13 years old and really got the competitive juices flowing. He has been fishing SKA ever since taking him and his team fishing the tournament trail from OBX to Texas. Matthew became a Coast Guard licensed Captain at 18. Recently he has helped rebuild the famed Venice Marina in Venica, La after Hurricane Katrina. His fishing team has won over $200,000 in competitive events.
